Location

Caimari is a Spanish town belonging to the municipality of Selva, located at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, between the villages of Mancor del Valle and Binibona It has a population (2016) of 773 inhabitants.

Caimari has a problematic etymology, possibly of Mozarabic origin.

The territorial area assigned since the 14th century undergoes large reductions until it limits to the west with the road that goes from Selva to the common and, at noon, with the torrent that flows from the aforementioned road to the bridge of en Moratón and the road to Pollença.

Caimari is known for its olive oil, but very few visit the village, as the oil can be bought in many shops on the island. The journey, however, is well worth it as Caimari is at the entrance to a hidden valley off the beaten track, where time has stood still. There are many routes that can be done from this charming village, very close to the region of Lluc.
